MULTIPLEX CONDUCTOR


Description: They consist of one (Duplex), two (Triplex) or three (Quadruplex) phase conductors insulated with XLPE or LLDPE, cabled around a neutral messenger cable, type AAC or ACSR which supports the cable.

Applications:

Duplex: Main application in secondary aerial distribution, urban lines and temporary constructions

Triplex: Application in overhead secondary distribution, normally from the transformer on the pole to the user’s service connection.

Quadruplex: Application in overhead secondary system three-phase distribution, normally from the transformer on the pole to the user’s service connection.

Specifications: Polyethylene has high dielectric strength and chemical agents resistance. Also it has excellent mechanical resistance. Its black pigmentation is resistant to sunlight UV exposure; therefore, it might be installed at outside applications.

The selection of the messenger cable depends on the size of the cable, the tensile strength, the number of conductors insulated per phase, the charge of the mechanical design and the weather.

Standards: They are manufactured ASTM B230, ASTM B231, ASTM B232, ASTM B498, ANSI/ICEA S-70-547-2000 and NEMA WC70 standards.

Maximum Operation temperature: 75°C for LLDPE insulation and 90°C for XLPE insulation.

Maximum Operation Voltage: 600 Volts
