All Aluminum Conductor

Description: concentric stranded conductors that consist of a central aluminum wire with successive layers (one or more) of helically applied aluminum wires cabled over the central wire or successive layers.

Applications:  they are used in primary and secondary electric power transmission and distribution lines where the bays are relatively short and where it is needed to maintain the ampacity and weight to a low level. Also it is used where resistance is not a critical factor. Additionally they are used as neutral conveyer in distribution multiplex cables.

Specifications:  They are manufactured with 1350 aluminum alloy. The cables are classified according to the type of stranding which can be AA, for bare cables normally used in aerial installations, and A for cables to be covered with materials resistant to environment conditions or for applications that demand more flexibility.

Standards: They are manufactured according ASTM B230 and ASTM B231 standards.
